A YEAR IN PRAYER    "Using God's Word to pray"

Are you puffed up with pride, arrogance, and conceit?

Do you think much of yourself, and look down on some people?

Are Christ’s gentleness, humility, meekness, and lowly state elements of your new nature?

DAY # 229

TODAY’S REQUEST:

PRAISING AND GIVING THANKS TO GOD:

FOR HE REMEMBERED US IN OUR LOWLY STATE

Psalms 136:23-26 Who remembered us in our lowly state, For His mercy endures forever; 24 And rescued us from our enemies, For His mercy endures forever; 25 Who gives food to all flesh, For His mercy endures forever. 26 Oh, give thanks to the God of heaven! For His mercy endures forever.
Zechariah 9:9 "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.
Matthew 11:29 "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Matthew 21:5 "Tell the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your King is coming to you, Lowly, and sitting on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.’"
Psalms 138:6 Though the LORD is on high, Yet He regards the lowly; But the proud He knows from afar.
Proverbs 16:19 Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, Than to divide the spoil with the proud.

HOW DO THE SCRIPTURES TELL US TO EXPRESS THIS REQUEST?

LEARNING FROM CHRIST WITH HIS YOKE UPON US

Luke 1: 46-55 And Mary said: "My soul magnifies the Lord, 47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. 48 For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. 49 For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And holy is His name. 50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation. 51 He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He has put down the mighty from their thrones, And exalted the lowly. 53 He has filled the hungry with good things, And the rich He has sent away empty. 54 He has helped His servant Israel, In remembrance of His mercy, 55 As He spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and to his seed forever."
2 Corinthians 10:1 Now I, Paul, myself am pleading with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ––who in presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you.
Philippians 3:21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.
James 1:9 Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation,
