A YEAR IN PRAYER    "Using God's Word to pray"

Do you pray only to the Father, in the name of the Son?

In your prayers, do you name the name of anybody other than the matchless name of the Lord Jesus?

Are your prayers mostly made of repetitions and plagiarism?

DAY # 224

TODAY’S REQUEST:

TO PRAY IN THE MANNER TAUGHT BY OUR LORD

Matthew 6:5-8 "And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 6 "But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. 7 "And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 "Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.
2 Kings 4:33 So he went in, and shutting the door on the two of them, made prayer to the Lord.
Ecclesiastes 5:2 Be not unwise with your mouth, and let not your heart be quick to say anything before God, because God is in heaven and you are on the earth—so let not the number of your words be great.
Matthew 23:14 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.
1 Timothy 2:1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,
Revelation 8:3 Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand.

HOW DO THE SCRIPTURES TELL US TO EXPRESS THIS REQUEST?

BEING RESOLUTE AND VIGILANT IN OUR PRAYERS

Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. 13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
Mark 11:24 "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.25 "And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.
