A YEAR IN PRAYER    "Using God's Word to pray"

Have you allowed the covetous and greedy spirits of this age to make a disgruntled and angry person out of you?

As days, months, and years go by, is your heart being hardened by the circumstances of life, and has all gentleness gone within you?

Do you have a gentle spirit towards others, treating everyone with respect, consideration, and compassion?

DAY # 212

TODAY’S REQUEST:

PRAYING FOR THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT:

GENTLENESS

2 Timothy 2:24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient,
Titus 3:2 to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.
James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
1 Peter 3:3 Do not let your adornment be merely outward––arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel – 4 rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.

HOW DO THE SCRIPTURES TELL US TO EXPRESS THIS REQUEST?

WILLING TO YIELD, WITHOUT PARTIALITY AND WITHOUT HYPOCRISY

Matthew 11:29 "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Galatians 5:22-25 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self–control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Galatians 6:1-10 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. 2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. 3 For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. 5 For each one shall bear his own load. 6 Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches. 7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
Philippians 4:5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
1 Timothy 6:9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
