A YEAR IN PRAYER    "Using God's Word to pray"

Have you been deceived by your own lusts to the point that you now justify your ungodly ways?

Are you trying to change your conduct without getting a transformed heart from God?

Are you following the ways of this world, growing more and more corrupt by the lustful desires of your heart?

DAY # 204

TODAY’S REQUEST:

THAT WE PUT OFF, CONCERNING OUR FORMER CONDUCT,

THE OLD MAN WHICH GROWS CORRUPT ACCORDING TO THE DECEITFUL LUSTS

Genesis 6:11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12 So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.
Deuteronomy 13:13 ‘Corrupt men have gone out from among you and enticed the inhabitants of their city, saying, "Let us go and serve other gods"’ ––which you have not known––
Deuteronomy 31:29 "For I know that after my death you will become utterly corrupt, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days, because you will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him to anger through the work of your hands."
Psalms 14:3 They have all turned aside, They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one.
Psalms 53:1 The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity; There is none who does good.
Proverbs 17:20 He who has a deceitful heart finds no good, And he who has a perverse tongue falls into evil.
1 Timothy 6: 3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, 4 he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, 5 useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.

HOW DO THE SCRIPTURES TELL US TO EXPRESS THIS REQUEST?

PUTTING OFF CORRUPTION – PUTTING ON OUR NEW CREATION

Psalms 5:6 You shall destroy those who speak falsehood; The LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.
Ephesians 4:20-24 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
