A YEAR IN PRAYER    "Using God's Word to pray"

Are you confusing the goodness of God towards you, believing it to be a stamp of approval of your way of life?

Do you realize that the goodness of God does not get rid of His justice and holiness?

Does your goodness reach and touch even those who don’t love you?

DAY # 166

TODAY’S REQUEST:

PRAISING AND GIVING THANKS TO GOD:

FOR THE LORD IS GOOD TO ALL, AND HIS TENDER MERCIES ARE ALL OVER HIS WORKS

Psalms 145:9 The LORD is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.
Psalms 107:1 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
Psalms 109:21 But You, O GOD the Lord, Deal with me for Your name’s sake; Because Your mercy is good, deliver me.
Psalms 118:1 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
Psalms 65: 9 You have given your blessing to the earth, watering it and making it fertile; the river of God is full of water: and having made it ready, you give men grain.
10 You make the ploughed lands full of water; you make smooth the slopes: you make the earth soft with showers, sending your blessing on its growth.
Psalms 34:8 Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!

HOW DO THE SCRIPTURES TELL US TO EXPRESS THIS REQUEST?

THE LORD IS GOOD TO THE JUST AND THE UNJUST

Matthew 5: 38 "You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’39 "But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. 40 "If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also. 41 "And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. 42 "Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away. 43 "You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 "that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 "For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 "And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
Acts 14:15-17 Good people, why are you doing these things? We are men with the same feelings as you, and we give you the good news so that you may be turned away from these foolish things to the living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all things in them: 16 Who in the past let all nations go in the ways which seemed good to them. 17 But he was not without witness, because he did good, and gave you rain from heaven and times of fruit, making your hearts full of food and joy.
