A YEAR IN PRAYER    "Using God's Word to pray"

How can we live to please God if we don’t know His likes and dislikes?

Nowadays, religiously lost people think that whatever pleases them pleases God. Do you reduce the will of God to the fruit of your imagination and personal desires?

Can those who bow down before inanimate objects (idols) and call upon dead people ever be in the condition of being pleasant to God?

Are you proud of what, where, and who you are in this world?

DAY # 144

TODAY’S REQUEST:

LIVING TO PLEASE GOD:

FOR THE LORD HATES A PROUD LOOK

Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: 17 A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, 19 A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.

Proverbs 15: 25-29 The LORD will destroy the house of the proud, But He will establish the boundary of the widow. 26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD, But the words of the pure are pleasant. 27 He who is greedy for gain troubles his own house, But he who hates bribes will live. 28 The heart of the righteous studies how to answer, But the mouth of the wicked pours forth evil. 29 The LORD is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous.

Proverbs 21:2-6 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts. 3 To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice. 4 A haughty look, a proud heart, And the plowing of the wicked are sin. 5 The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, But those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty. 6 Getting treasures by a lying tongue Is the fleeting fantasy of those who seek death.

HOW DO THE SCRIPTURES TELL US TO EXPRESS THIS REQUEST?

FOR THE LORD WILL HALT THE ARROGANCE OF THE PROUD

Psalms 131:1 LORD, my heart is not haughty, Nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, Nor with things too profound for me.

Ecclesiastes 7:8 The end of a thing is better than its beginning; The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

Isaiah 2:12 For the day of the LORD of hosts Shall come upon everything proud and lofty, Upon everything lifted up––And it shall be brought low––

Isaiah 13:11 "I will punish the world for its evil, And the wicked for their iniquity; I will halt the arrogance of the proud, And will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

James 4:6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble."

1 Peter 5:5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble."
